US President Trump buys Red Tesla Model X, praises Elon Musk


US President Donald Trump purchased a red Tesla Model X directly from Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO and Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Head. The event took place on the White House’s South Lawn, where multiple Tesla vehicles, including the futuristic Cybertruck, were displayed temporarily.

Marking a bold public statement of support for Elon Musk and his ventures, The purchase was made in front of reporters and cameras. Addressing the media alongside Musk and his son, X, Trump refering to Musk stated, “He had four beautiful cars there and I bought one in front of the press. It was a very public purchase and they are beautiful and do a great job.”

Elon Musk praised Musk

Trump praised Musk calling him a ‘great guy’ and ‘patriot,’ for his contributions to both the private and public sectors. Trump acknowledged the CEO’s role in focusing on government efficiency through DOGE and lauded his resilience amid recent challenges.

“When I saw what was happening, I said that I want to buy a Tesla,” Trump said. “Sometimes, I’m not even sure what he is in terms of his philosophy, but he’s a great guy. He’s a patriot,” he added.

Cybertruck’s Bulletproof features discuss

Elon Musk and the US President also inspected the Tesla Cybertruck. Musk highlighted the vehicle’s unique features, noting that the Cybertruck is bulletproof, a detail that caught the President’s interest. However, Trump clarified that while he purchased the Model X, he would not be driving it due to security restrictions. Instead, the car will be made available for White House staff.

Tesla stock rises amid Presidential endorsement

Tesla’s stock saw a remarkable boost following the Trump’s endorsement. This comes after a period of volatility for the automaker, attributed to Elon Musk’s expanding political influence and controversial moves to reduce federal government size. Trump addressed the issue of vandalism against Tesla dealerships and vehicles, vowing to classify any violence against Tesla as domestic terrorism.

“I think Musk has been treated very unfairly by a very small group of people, and I just want people to know that he can’t be penalized for being a patriot,” Trump stated. He emphasized his commitment to stopping such acts and ensuring Tesla’s operations are safeguarded.

President Trump rejected discounts 

Rejecting any discounts to avoid allegations of favoritism, Trump revelead that he paid the full price for the Model X. “I don’t want a discount,” he said. “Musk would give me a discount, but if I do, they’re gonna say, ‘Oh, I got benefits.’”
